Wildlife Tours

Come aboard with us and explore the Barkley Sound on a private charter out to the playground of the Pacific Ocean. Learn the cultural significance of our wildlife to local indigenous culture and enjoy historical interpretation as you cruise along the archipelagos that create the desirable feeding grounds for a variety of wildlife.

Here on the West Coast we are surrounded by rugged beauty and are treated to the wonders of nature’s great events year round. In March we see the return of 25 000 pacific gray whales that make the great migration from southern Mexico to the northern waters of Alaska and can be seen throughout the summer. This great migration is followed by the return of the herring spawn in late spring, which turns our coastal waters murky blue and attracts marine life in extraordinary numbers. Frolicking among the pacific gray whales there are humpback whales, transient orcas (mammal hunters), porpoises, sea lions, seals, bald eagles, bears and an astounding variety of sea birds. All of which can be seen visiting Ucluelet through-out the summer and fall seasons.

Our friendly naturalist guide will answer all the questions you have about the wildlife you see and make sure your group is comfortable along the way.

This trip is fishing optional. Should you wish to fish, please refer to our Saltwater Fishing section for what to expect.
